Frame
Relay allows for multiple logins and data transfer through a single
line. When connecting Frame Relay into a network, there are two
additional components to complete the connection. One is a DSU/CSU
(similar to a modem), which talks TCP/IP (Internet Protocol). The
second is a Router that routes all traffic throughout your network.
Frame Relay is one of the most stable of any connection and is sold
on low ratio to ensure your traffic through-put. That is why it
is more expensive than ISDN or DSL. The other great thing about
Frame Relay, unlike ISDN, is that it allows for growth. ISDN speeds
peek at 128K; Frame Relay allows for T-1, T-3, OC12's, and so on.
